(More customer reviews)I've got two Airwash units and, like all of us, thought I'd save the cost of more expensive Venta water treatment and cleaner fluid by getting a generic brand at Ace Hardware. I think we are all suspicious of companies luring us into buying their side products. For once, the Venta products outperform similar products and I feel are worth the cost. As other Venta Airwash owners already know, the wheels need to be cleaned periodically and using both the cleaner and water treatment really keeps them spotless.
Since both units run almost 24/7, I will confess that about every 6 weeks, I do take the base and water wheels for both units and soak them in a mild bleach/dish detergent solution in the bathtub (both units are oyster white). With being able to remove the motor/fan assembly so easily to clean the blades, I feel like I have a healthy environment for each unit. Using the water treatment as directed keeps my units clean and sanitary in between cleanings. I trade off cleaning methods because much as I like the products, I do have to keep my eye on a tight budget. This is well worth the expense though.
